Why book through a destination management company
15 June 2026 · Hodari Africa Safaris

When you plan a safari, you'll meet two kinds of company: resellers who pass your booking down a chain, and a destination management company — a DMC — that operates on the ground in the destination itself. Hodari Africa Safaris is the latter, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
What a DMC actually does
A DMC owns the relationship with the camps, lodges, guides and vehicles directly. We know the head guide at the camp, we know which rooms catch the morning light, and we know which road washes out after rain. That knowledge is the product.
Why it matters to you
- One accountable team. From the airport pickup to the final game drive, the journey is run by people who answer to you, not a call centre three time zones away.
- Private by default. Your own open-roof 4×4 and resident driver-guide throughout, so the day moves at your pace.
- Real flexibility. Because we operate the journey, we can change it — an extra night in the Mara, a balloon at dawn, a beach extension — without renegotiating a chain of suppliers.
For travel partners
Agents and operators sell our journeys on net rates with commission on top, and our quote tool does the heavy lifting. If you place clients into East Africa, get in touch about partnering.
